17 Pupils are able to talk about key policies that relate to their mental health and wellbeing.
Examples: Pupils can describe how bullying, behaviour or attendance policies relate to them. Pupil Council minutes. Student feedback. Student voice groups ensure that pupils are given the opportunity to speak freely about topics meaningful to them. Individual support plans.
18 Pupils are involved in the formulation and implementation of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy and provision.
Examples: A range of student voice groups and/or mechanisms are in place which are inclusive and reflective of all pupils within the setting community. Pupil councils and other student voice groups effects change and influence policy, ensuring that their voices are meaningful and seen to be so. Pupils help to plan awareness raising days/ information.
19 Student voice is represented at all levels.
Examples: Person centred planning approaches are used when decisions have to be made for learners. Student wellbeing questionnaires/audits are used effectively. All communication needs of individuals are met to allow full student voice. Pupil leadership opportunities are offered e.g. school ambassadors, student PAs, student leaders of learning, young sports leaders, digital leaders, house captains, head boy/girl, senior students.
